In this project, Eric examines the history of tuberculosis in the era of the First World War. He uses gender as a frame of analysis, to look at the ways in which the state managed men’s bodies during and after the war, and how men made claims on the state for access to employment, treatment and compensation for the struggles associated with their tuberculosis.
