Ibukun’s previous study found that virtual care can allow migrants and asylum seekers access to healthcare conveniently. Many providers that serve this population have similar migration and cultural experiences as their patients. This increases their ability to deliver compassionate care but is emotionally challenging and can worsen burnout. Her study will co-design and test an intervention to address compassion fatigue in a refugee-serving community organisation so that digital health compassion and provider wellbeing can be sustained.
