Exploring the Need for a Uniquely Different Approach in Northern Ontario: A Study of Socially Accountable Artificial Intelligence

The healthcare needs in Northern Ontario are complex and uniquely different. To address these challenges, the Northern Ontario School of Medicine University (NOSM U) is founded on a social accountability mandate—a mandate to reorient education and research to address priority health and social needs of Northern Ontario. Erin’s project will focus on understanding artificial intelligence in the context of Northern Ontario and will help to provide compassionate care in northern and rural contexts.
