Delayed recognition of bleeding severity among trauma patients leads to delays in treatment and higher risk of death. Trauma disproportionately affects patients of lower socioeconomic status (SES). These patients are vulnerable to implicit bias and are more likely to receive a lesser quality of care. Alexandre’s study will investigate the influence of SES on appropriateness and timeliness of medical interventions, capitalizing on improvements in accuracy and completeness of data capture with electronic medical record implementation.
