Our Partners

Providing exceptional outcomes through collaboration.

We've long recognized the importance of partnering with educational and research facilities, as well as organizations that offer healthcare services. The critical funding we provide to these organizations leads to real change in the healthcare system.

By partnering with world-class organizations, we bring more compassion to healthcare.

Ontario Medical Students Association (OMSA) and the Medical Student Education Research Grant (MSERG)

The Ontario Medical Students Association, the representative body for Ontario’s over 3000 medical students, has undertaken the creation of new granting program for medical students participating in high-level medical education research offering the opportunity to apply for funding for a summer research project. AMS has partnered with the OMSA/MSERG to provide four- $5,000.00 research Grants for 2018 (the OMSA/AMS Grant) for medical students who wish to pursue research projects related to compassionate, patient-centred care in two areas of study. The first concentrates on the Patient Focus examining best practices to engage patients and family perspectives in compassionate care, patients as educators and the patient’s voice as a resource for learning. The second area is Provider Wellness looking at curriculum and resources for provider wellness and resilience and/or mitigation of compassion fatigue and burnout in students, residents and practitioners.

College of Nurses of Ontario

We’ve partnered with the College of Nurses of Ontario as the lead organization on a group project with 6 other regulatory colleges in Ontario. The following organizations are participating:

The College of Physicians and Surgeons, the Ontario College of Pharmacists, the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario, the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario, the College of Optometrists of Ontario, and the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario.

We had planned a 2020 Regulatory Summit where we’d come together to discuss and develop technology competencies for regulatory health professionals. While that’s been deferred for the time being, we’re excited by the potential that exists in convening this diverse group of health professionals. We’ve begun by conducting a scoping review and developing a briefing paper.

College of Family Physicians of Canada

We are thrilled to have signed a new partnership agreement with CFPC for 2020. Our agreement is called Tech Forward and Shaping the Vision for Integration of Compassionate Care in Family Medicine. Our work together involves offering a fellowship and creating a steering committee that will design and host an event to explore a future strategy for addressing compassion and technology in family practice.
