Celebrating our first Change Day!
November 18, 2017
Ontario’s first Change Day is in the books and it was a great campaign! Thank you to all who participated — nurses, doctors, personal support workers, students, and patients alike. We received pledges from everyone who touches the healthcare system. We are amazed by the brave pledges you made to change your actions, your work environment, and your patients’ lives.
By midnight on November 17th, we had received nearly 6000 pledges. More are coming in as organizations continue to enter the terrific pledges they gathered at events and workplaces across Ontario. We’ve seen entire departments pledge to provide an improved patient experience, medical professionals pledging to improve access and equity, and even personal statements to reduce burnout. We couldn’t have hoped for a more engaged and passionate campaign.
A special thank you to those that participated in our #ChangeDayON Twitter party. This was our first time hosting a Twitter party and we weren’t disappointed! The stories, the celebrations, pizza parties, cakes, buttons and banners, and best of all … so smiling faces working together to improve quality, compassionate care.
We are proud to announce that AMS and HQO will partner again in 2018 to continue to bring Change Day to Ontario and grow its momentum. A huge thank you to the Change Day teams in BC, Alberta, and the NHS for sharing their experiences with us and for th friendly competition.
We’ll be reaching out to Change Day participants to get input on the campaign so we can make 2018 even better!
