AMS Healthcare, along with the J & W Murphy Foundation, is proud to announce the establishment of the Hannah-Roper Chair in the History of Healthcare and Health Equity at Dalhousie University and King’s University College. This ninth Hannah Chair joins a distinguished network of scholars advancing research and education in health professions and history. As Canada’s leading supporter of the history of healthcare, AMS Healthcare continues its commitment to fostering scholarship that deepens our understanding of healthcare’s past and informs a more equitable future.
“The addition of this Chair strengthens our national network of healthcare historians and embeds history into medical and healthcare education,” said Helen Angus, CEO of AMS Healthcare. “Through research, mentorship, teaching and community building, this Chair will help future healthcare professionals understand the historical forces shaping modern medicine and the ethical challenges ahead.”
