Informal caregivers, such as spouses and children, are the primary sources of support for medication management among older adults. However, caregivers are not adequately supported for the time-consuming nature and complexity of medication management. This can lead to caregiver burnout and compassion fatigue. Home-based automated medication dispensers can replace many of the medication management tasks. Tejal will explore how the integration of automated dispensers in the home impacts caregiver burnout, compassion fatigue and satisfaction.
