Using A.I. to develop a personalized decision tool for managing vasomotor symptoms in breast cancer patients

Distressing vasomotor symptoms (VMS), including hot flashes and night sweats, occur frequently in breast cancer patients, and are the most common reason patients stop curative treatment. With over 250,000 breast cancer survivors in Canada today, this is a very important issue. Sharon’s team is proposing a novel clinical trial using a machine learning algorithm to develop a personalized tool to predict which treatments for hot flashes will be most effective for an individual patient.
